Analyst - Energy & Utilities Sector

Michael Benzinger is in his second year in the Queen’s Commerce program. He is current an analyst for the Energy & Utilities sector in the Queen’s University Investment Counsel after serving as a Junior Analyst in his first year.

This past summer Michael worked in San Francisco for a fin-tech startup called Sentieo. Sentieo is a next generation financial research platform that is underpinned by the latest search technology. Michael was US employee number 14 at Sentieo and their first ever intern.

Additionally, Michael serves as the Latin America Analyst within Queen’s Global Markets (QGM), an undergraduate think tank committed to studying and forecasting global business trends and economic outlooks.

Michael was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario where he attended Académie Sté Cecile International School. In high school Michael was an avid athlete, playing on five different varsity sport teams and receiving the “Male Athlete of the Year” in his grade 11 and 12 years, becoming the fourth student in the school’s history to win the award on multiple occasions.
