Ben was born and raised in Ottawa, where he attended Lisgar Collegiate Institute. Since arriving at Queen’s, he has been involved with a number of extra-curricular activities in the School of Business, including the Queen’s Finance Association Conference (QFAC), the Queen’s Commerce Trading Competition (QCTC), and the Queen’s University Investment Counsel (QUIC).
Ben joined QUIC in first year as the Junior Analyst and proceeded through the roles of TMT Analyst and TMT Portfolio Manager before becoming the counsel’s Chief Executive Officer. Having developed a keen interest in analyzing and investing in technology companies, he recently completed an internship in the Venture Capital industry at OMERS Ventures in Toronto. In addition to his extracurricular commitments, Ben also co-founded and operated an educational services business, called ExamBlitz, which provided comprehensive review sessions for students at Queen’s. During its operations from 2011-2013, ExamBlitz helped over 1,000 Queen’s students in the faculties of Commerce, Engineering, and Mathematics.
Outside of school, Ben is an avid sports fan and athlete, having completed a Triathlon and a Tough Mudder race in recent years. He attended an exchange term at the ESADE Business School in Barcelona during the Winter semester of 2013.
